This family’s trust has protected forevermore the agricultural values of this farm by donating its conservation easement to the Ag Land Trust.

Located in the River Road district of the Salinas Valley lies this Ranch. Its well-drained soil support a variety of crops including vegetable and field crops and vineyards.

Less than two miles southeast of the city of Gonzales and adjacent to California State Highway 101 lies the Andrus’ ranch. Not only does the agricultural easement keep the farm in vegetable production, it forms a buffer zone between the developed properties within the city limits of Gonzales and the irreplaceable agricultural farmland southeast of the city limits.

The Ranch is located less than two miles southeast of the city of Gonzales and fronts United States Route 101. Working in partnership with LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION (LAFCO), the property owners, the City of Greenfield and the Ag Land Trust, the buffer easement protects the surrounding agricultural lands.
