This farming family and their representatives entered into an agreement to protect the agriculture values and prohibit conversion of the property to other uses by donating a conservation easement.  As the farm is less than a quarter mile from the Salinas city limits, there was increasing pressures for urban expansion over this prime irrigated soil.
